Allan Saint Maximin gives a Rolex watch to Newcastle fan after opening day win

After helping his side record a 20 win over newly promoted Forest, Saint Maximin was in a generous mood when he gave a Rolex to a Newcastle fan holding a French flag with the winger’s name and number on it.

You can watch the recordings here.

Damn, Steve Duttonwhich was at the end of the kind gesture of Saint Maximin said on Twitter: “I was the person gifted the watch from ASM. I was completely speechless. I thought he came to sign autographs and take pictures with the kids. I’m still in shock, I can’t thank @saintmaximin enough.”

This was not the first time Saint Maximin gave a watch to a fan, he did the exact same thing back in December 2021.

Damn, Michael Urwin spoke to Chronicle Live after receiving the gift from Saint Maximin.

He said: “He got out of his car and came over to where I was standing and gave me a box and said ‘This is for you’. I was shaking, to be honest with you, but he was quite excited and was just saying “Open it, open it!”

Since his arrival at St. James Park, Saint Maximin has been a fan favorite as his dazzling skills and sheer speed captured the hearts of the Newcastle faithful.

He was instrumental once again during the game against Forest, giving Steve Cooper’s defense a torrid time, especially at right-back Neco Williams, who struggled to cope with the sheer speed of the French winger.

Fabian Schar’s superb long-range effort gave Eddie Howe’s side the lead in the 58th minute, Forest producing a brave effort as they searched for the equaliser. However, a goal in the 78th minute of Callum Wilson ensured that all three points would remain at St. James Park.

There is renewed optimism in the Newcastle fanbase after a strong showing towards the end of last season.

After spending big on the likes of Nick Pope, Sven Botman and Matt Targetedfans expect a top-half finish as a minimum, with some hoping the team can push for a place in European football.

Howe hinted that the club’s transfer window may not be over, saying: “I love the individuals we’ve got but I’d like to add a bit more quality to it if possible.”

Next up for Newcastle will be Brighton next Saturday.
