Chicago Bears camp observations: Injured backs pose a problem

The Bears may need some quick healing if they are going to accomplish any of the goals they want to accomplish in Cleveland on Saturday night when they face the Browns.

It starts with the running back.

They did not have Khalil Herbert or Trestan Ebner at practice on Tuesday after both suffered minor injuries. At the very least, they are suspected to be minor injuries because coach Matt Eberflus has not disclosed what they are, and when that happens they are considered minor injuries.

Starting running back David Montgomery had a minor injury earlier in camp, was held out of the Seattle game, but has practiced since and did so again Tuesday. However, Darrynton Evans and Demontre Tuggle took the bulk of the carries.
