A bug in FromSoftware’s latest game, Elden Ring, shows a player standing on a Site of Lost Grace when they should be sitting and resting.
Earlier this year, Fire Ring was met with critical praise and an adoring fan base after it hit store shelves. So far, Fire Ring has reportedly sold over 13.4 million copies and is FromSoftware’s fastest-selling game. Like previous games made by the studio, it is known for its high difficulty and depressing setting. Unfortunately, at the time of its initial release, the game was also known to be quite buggy.
The PC version of the game bore most of the criticism, as did the Steam version of Fire Ring was initially met with mixed reviews due to performance issues. Many of these issues have since been resolved, and the current Steam reviews for the game are listed as “Very Positive.” But no matter how many times a developer patches a game, some issues and quirks will remain.
Since Fire Ring was released, players have shared their own encounters with the game’s bizarre quirks and bugs. One of the funniest bugs shows one Fire Ring the enemy glitching on top of a ladder where he crouches on it over and over. In a recent post, Reddit user Educational-Price-40 revealed a strange bug where the player character would not sit down at a Site of Lost Grace, but still had the full menu available.
Despite Fire Ring is technically original intellectual property, it is remarkably similar Dark souls game. Both involve the player character killing a handful of incredibly powerful entities to gain their power. Furthermore, this power is used to fuel a vague cosmic force that keeps a supposed golden age going arguably past its time. The two franchises are so similar, in fact, that even George RR Martin once referenced Fire Ring as Dark souls sequel. The Sites of Lost Grace is one of these similar items.
IN Fire RingSites of Lost Grace have a similar function to Bonfires i Dark souls game. The player rests in these places, recharges health, refills healing potions and levels up. In addition, players can also fast travel between these locations. Character deaths that happen right before you get to these locations can be especially heartbreaking due to lost progress. In some cases, however, Sites Of Lost Grace i Fire Ring is not always relaxing, with one located near a Walking Mausoleum. When a glitch in the game ensures that the player can’t even sit down on the side, it can make such places all the more disturbing.
Fire Ring is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
