Mario Kart 8’s Coconut Mall Track has gotten a wild update, and the Internet is taking notice

This week Nintendo released the second wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Booster Course Pass DLC, which included the Sky High Sundae — a brand new addition to the Mario Kart series.

Nintendo’s announcement was followed up with a video that surprised the Internet. It revealed that Coconut Mall, a course first introduced on the Wii, would be getting a slight update. In the new version, the Shy Guy drivers waiting near the finish line – the last obstacle racers will encounter as they reach the finish line – will do chaotic donut flips in their attempts to slow players down.

Something like this is best seen, so here’s the video linked that shows you the update, and how the Shy Guys try to spin you way off course.

The video, which shows Princess Peach being tossed by a shy guy after being blasted by a red shell, went viral, and has now generated over 33 thousand likes and more than 700,000 views.

The internet obviously couldn’t resist the meme potential this latest gem had.

@TheNCSmaster tweets out this hilarious video comparing how the Shy Guys basically compete in the same donut-spinning contest that Mordecai and Rigby enter in order to get a cameo on their favorite cop show in the episode Carter and Briggs of Regular Show.

@ElliotDuby didn’t exactly call Saulbut he was referring to the Breaking Bad episode where Walter White goes crazy with donuts in Walter Jr.’s red Dodge Challenger SRT8.

Most amusing, however, was the Ronald McDonald page out of context@McDonaldsOOC tweets this hilarious video of good old Ron spinning out in a weird McDonald’s mobile.

But of course the meme potential is limitless and this is just a highlight of the more than 2,800 quote tweets attached, so check out the rest for yourself in the original tweet linked above!
